Applications are invited for threeacademic appointments as Lecturer/Associate Professor in the School of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Infrastructure Engineering, Dalian University of Technology (DLUT), China to commence from September 1, 2017 or as soon as possible thereafter.
The appointments will initially be made on a three-year term basis, with the possibility of renewal.
Established in 1949, the DLUT Civil Engineering is the home to one State Key Laboratory on coastal and ocean engineering with some of the best water tank and channel testing facilities. The Institute of Building Environment and Facility Engineering has carried out various national level projects such as 973, 863 and NSFC, with collaboration from Boeing, University of Colorado, VTT Finland etc. Following rapid urbanization, and urban air pollution challengesin China and elsewhere in Asia, the Institute will extend its research area into urban climate and urban environment. As the Institute has been providing education and research on how to design a building climate and environment, new effort will be extended to how to design a city climate and environment. We are recruiting talents from relevant disciplines such as urban climate, urban planning, urban air pollution and urban geography.
Candidates in urban climate and urban air pollution will be considered. Multi-disciplinary knowledge in building environment, urban planning, urban geography, and/or microbiomewill be considered as advantage. Preference will be given to those working in the area of sea/land breeze, urban heat island circulation, meso-scale climate simulations, and environment fluid dynamics. Post-doc experience is preferred, but not essential.
The appointees will be expected to teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses, supervise research students and also actively engage in community services.
