Murat Karakus目前为澳大利亚阿德莱德大学副教授，长期从事岩石力学与岩石工程领域的教学与科研工作。教授的课程涉及到的主题有采矿工程、岩石力学和数值模拟。研究兴趣非常广泛，包括计算与实验岩石力学、基于损伤力学的本构理论、岩爆灾害机理等。Murat副教授是国际岩石力学与采矿科学杂志的副主编，发表了超过100篇高水平论文，并多次获得澳大利亚研究理事会（ARC）资助，开展跨学科合作项目，推动岩体工程理论与实践的发展。
