Lecture Title: Modern Methods and Offsite Manufacturing: Customised Construction for the Sustainable Development Goals （现代方法与异地制造：助力可持续发展目标的定制化建筑）
Abstract:
This lecture will explore the transformative role of Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and Offsite Manufacturing (OSM) in shaping a sustainable future for the built environment. Associate Professor Mostafa Babaeian Jelodar will discuss how these innovative approaches enable customised construction solutions that directly contribute to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The session will cover the integration of digital technologies, such as Building Information Modeling (BIM), and automation to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve the overall sustainability and resilience of construction projects.
Associate Professor Mostafa Babaeian Jelodar
PhD (Civil Engineering, Construction Management), MSc (Project Management), BEng (Civil)
Associate Professor Mostafa Babaeian Jelodar serves as the Academic Lead of the School of Built Environment at Massey University, where he also leads the Modern Methods of Construction and Automation in Built Environment (MOCABE) research group and the CanConstructNZ initiative. His research focuses on digital transformation in construction, including: Building Information Modeling (BIM), Automation and offsite manufacturing, Sustainable construction and project lifecycle management, Construction productivity and innovation. He has authored over 100 publications, including 45 Q1 journal articles, and holds editorial roles in leading international journals such as Architectural Engineering and Design Management and Construction Innovation. He is also an active member of several professional bodies, including the International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB).
